Project Overview
In this project, I tried to use the layering method to apply a second layer of color with a new kapton after the first layer of E.coli has already showed up the color. However, this method produced very pale colors, so I decided to try mixing red and yellow E. coli before putting them on the agar, and ended up with an unexpected gradient effect.
Process
By experimenting with two petri dishes, I found that there seemed to be no way to overlay the colors of E. coli, and the overlay of the new kapton would adhere to the first layer of E. coli, causing the E. coli that had already showed up its colors on the agar to be scraped away, resulting in the petri dish eventually rendering a very pale color.
